Weathered by Time

Weathered by Time captures the details of an elderly woman's face. The focus is on her wrinkles. Each wrinkle adds to the story of the woman's life. Her clothing is simplistic so observers are first drawn to her face.
In this pencil drawing, I focused on contrasts and highlights. After sketching and shading the basic outline of the old woman, I used an eraser to create the illusion of disheveled white hair and taught wrinkles.
